I have been really wanting to re-do our bathroom for a while now. I've been working really hard on it by pinning a bunch of things on pinterest, and then showing them to HJ and telling him how easy it would be to do all the projects I have pinned. We looked at a bunch of different options for a new vanity top, but basically everything was super expensive because the space is 1 inch smaller than all the standard vanity tops. And, those standard vanity tops are pricey anyway.
So, I first decided that I wanted an epoxy resin countertop, a la high school chemistry lab. Then we thought about concrete (HJ didn't really buy that it would be super easy to make our own concrete countertops). So, we ended up settling on a wood countertop, stained black, and sealed. Here are the before's of the bathroom, and then some after shots of the vanity top. HJ made the whole thing and the mirror frame himself. He's handy like that.
The shower, bathtub, lighting, floor, and toilet are next on the agenda. I better get to pinning.
Before
After
I'm pretty proud of those sinks...they were $44 dollars each from Home Depot and we got $50 off for opening a Home Depot card (which we won't use, but it was worth the discount). They were supposed to be wall mount, but we used them as vessel sinks. All the square vessel sinks I looked at were at least $200, so $50 total was not bad.
Now, I need to do some things that really need to get done like study for my inservice exam and wash some baby clothes.

I am impressed! Dad
Looks awesome! We are getting ready to renovate our bathroom, starting with converting from a shower stalk to a shower and soaking tub combo. Eek!
